We have had email delays for most customer domains this afternoon. The root cause of the delays has been fixed, and emails will now be able to flow in as usual. All queued and delayed emails from late this afternoon should be delivered to their recipient mailboxes by midnight.
Our spam filtering software uses many external community-based spam reports to identify spam. On occasion, like today, they become congested with requests and once they get behind they generally stay behind. This causes a backlog on both our mail servers and on ISPs relaying email to us.
Emails are now on their way in. Since email delivery peaks at midday, they will flow through the spam filtering software faster than earlier today.
