We are pleased to announce we installed a major upgrade to the AthensGuy.com email system on June 19th, Monday, at 2:00 am. Features include 1GB sized mailboxes, click fast webmail, and staying logged into WebMail.
We will be doing everything in our power to make this a smooth transition. However, it might be possible that your POP3 client will see duplicates with your old emails once we install the new system. If you have experience any
problems or have any questions, please contact us through the SUPPORT link above.
The new features are:
1GB (Gigabyte) Mailboxes:
Mailboxes were previously limited to 20MB (Megabytes) for use with the
AthensGuy.com WebMail. Mailboxes will now be unrestricted in size. Please
note that web hosting diskspace limits for all accounts are still active.
However, there are no enforced quotas, and we will work with your account
representative when limits are consistently exceeded.
Faster WebMail:
It will no longer matter how large your mailbox is, accessing your email
through WebMail will be fast. In our testing of a one gigabyte sized mailbox,
we were able to access any message within a few of seconds.
WebMail Can Remember Your Email Address & Password:
You will now have the option to have your web browser remember your email
address and password in a client-side cookie. You will no longer have to type
in your password every time you log in. Please use this functionality with
caution. You wouldn't want to enable this on a public computer.
Auto purging Trash, Drafts, and Sent mailboxes:
We will begin automatically purging the Trash mailbox once a week. Once a
month we will purge all Drafts mailboxes of emails older than a month. Once a month we will purge all Sent mailboxes of emails older than month and larger than 1 MB.
